Following the incident in Strathclyde last weekend, HSE would like to remind members of the guidance available relating to annual inspection. 1.All inspections must be completed thoroughly and include all requirements for annual inspection contained in the design review and manufacturer’s instructions.

2.Effective Non Destructive Testing (NDT) should be undertaken on safety critical parts in accordance with the NDT schedule, the design review and the manufacturer’s instructions.

3.Inspection Bodies should carry out additional inspection and testing, as necessary, to allow them to determine the condition and integrity of all safety critical parts.
